Only a well-earned retirement makes this coveted position available. For the right person, it's not just a job, it's a vocation. If you thrive where strategy meets storytelling, where design meets discipleship, and where every deadline ultimately serves a mission bigger than marketing; keep reading.

YOU

You are a rare find: you can move comfortably between a stewardship campaign letter and a social media content calendar, between a brand guideline and a photo shoot at the10:00 am Mass. You bring both the big picture and the pixel-level details.

You are a strategist:

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive communications strategy at the macro level (annual calendar, campaigns, budget) and the event/initiative level.
  • Develop messaging for stewardship campaigns, capital campaigns, and Year End Reports that moves people, not just informs them.
  • Manage the parish’s marketing committee: set agendas, run meetings, recruit volunteers, and keep initiatives on track.
  • Prepare and steward the annual marketing and communications budget.

You are a writer and storyteller:

  • Recruit parishioners to share their faith stories, conduct interviews, write, and edit the stories and edit the stories written by others.
  • Craft Mass announcements, speaker introductions, stewardship messaging, and campaign copy that sounds like a human wrote it.
  • Gather content from staff, ministry leads, and parishioners for the Year End Report and other publications.

You are a designer and visual thinker:

  • Design and produce a full range of print publications: Bulletin, Calendar, Guidebook, Seek Christ, Year End Report, Stewardship and Capital Campaign materials, flyers, brochures, postcards, prayer cards, ads, and more.
  • Maintain and enforce all parish and school brand guidelines (logo, typography, color palette, imagery) across every print and digital touchpoint.
  • Manage the parish’s Canva account, provide training and support to staff, and coordinate with outside designers and vendors as needed.
  • Design and produce banners, exterior signage, and interior displays; assist with campus signage in coordination with other departments.

You are a digital native (or at least a fluent digital second-language speaker):

  • Manage the parish website: content updates, event calendar, sermon/homily uploads, Google Analytics reporting, domain/SSL renewals, and platform evaluation.
  • Own the parish’s Facebook and Instagram presence: account management, post and ad creation, content/advertising calendar, and community engagement (yes, that includes replying to comments).
  • Manage and run Constant Contact: send the eBulletin and Connected in Christ emails, build event registration forms and surveys, run reports and keep the list clean.

You are an administrator (yes, really, this part matters):

  • Manage the parish database (account, users, access, reporting, and training).
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgement letters, and Prayer Garden engraving lists
  • Manage narthex promotions: kiosks, bulletin boards, banners, tables, and posters.
  • Maintain the supply of stationery, business cards, and print collateral.
  • Coordinate print/mailing vendor relationships, and Archdiocesan Stewardship Campaign promotion.
  • Support the school sub-committee’s marketing and enrollment efforts.

You are a collaborator who can also say no:

  • Work closely across all parish departments and ministry leads to gather content, coordinate promotions, and represent the mission consistently.
  • Hold the line on brand standards, deadlines, and communication priorities, with grace and confidence.
  • Delegate well, whether to volunteers, vendors, or the Marketing Committee.

You bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field (more is welcome).
  • An ability to learn quickly new design tools, CMS/website platforms, and email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact).
  • Strong project management instincts: you can hold many spinning plates without dropping the important ones.
  • An active Catholic faith and a genuine desire to serve the Church.
