The Stewardship and Engagement Coordinator furthers Holy Apostles mission by setting and guiding the parish’s engagement, stewardship, and development strategies.
Job Description
Ministry of Stewardship
Work closely with the Mission Advancement Analyst in all areas of stewardship including: planning and implementing the annual fall mission, commitment process for time, talent, and treasure with the pastor, staff, and mission sustainability ministry implementing a gratitude plan including follow-up activities for the fall mission commitment to record and share timely communication with appropriate ministry coordinators.
Additional areas of Stewardship
• Serve as staff liaison to the mission sustainability ministry.
• Provide reporting for various giving initiatives and building relationships with parish members.
• Coordinate the annual fundraising calendar working with the Director of Administrative Services (DAS) and areas of service.
• Develop content for parish communication regarding planned giving and bequests in coordination with the DAS, Communication Coordinator, Pastor and Mission Sustainability Ministry.
• Participate in training and development offered by the archdiocese aiming to become proficient in all areas of opportunities within Stewardship.
Ministry of Engagement
• Work with pastor and staff to educate and coach them for specific relationships and roles in the fundraising process, such as making a case for a need, developing messages for parishioners regarding the support and impact of ministries.
• Develop strategies and methods to engage and integrate new and current members into parish life and ministry opportunities.
• Create consistent communication content on engagement opportunities for the parish members, including identifying volunteer opportunities with the staff liaisons and ministry leaders.
• Oversee parish ministry booklet process working with staff liaisons and volunteers.
• Participate in coordinating volunteer recognition events along with parish staff.
• Work closely with Communication Coordinator and administrative services team on all aspects of stewardship and engagement as it relates to supporting ministries served.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; communications, development, religious studies.
• Understanding of authentic stewardship through a Christian and biblical perspective and experience in communicating, sharing and engaging parish members in stewardship.
• Maturity and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
• Possess strong interpersonal communication abilities including excellent verbal and written skills.
• Excellent analytical skills, business acumen and project management skills.
• A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives
• Concurrently, multi-tasking efficiently, and change priorities as needed, while completing tasks within reasonable timeframes.
• Ability to work with multiple ministries to develop and empower volunteers who serve or engage new parish members to serve in those ministries.
• Self-starter, sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, able to work independently, deadline oriented, enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
• Ability to apply common sense when carrying out instructions furnished in written or oral form, anticipating next step of the process or project.
• Previous database reporting and relationship management software experience preferred.
• Consistently maintain acceptable performance standards.
• Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God's Children certification class.
