April 12-18: the Octave of Easter

This Week’s Feast Days

This week is the Octave of Easter, so no Saint days are celebrated this week in the liturgy. In other years, these saints would be celebrated:

Ideas for This Week

Decorate your front window. Lots of people are going for daily walks around their neighborhood. Bring them Easter joy by decorating your front window. You could cut out letters to make a Bible verse, hang up Easter Egg drawings, or write inspiring messages.

Take things deeper: Use your left-over Easter Egg dye to make some cool crosses.

Make a call/text list. Think about which people you might normally have gathered with this week - it could be your family, your friends, a sports or trivia team, and more. Write down their names, and send each of them a personal call or text this week. Check in with them, wish them Happy Easter, and ask how you can pray for them.

Take things deeper: Organize an online hangout with those people! Play a game, have a Happy Hour, or just chat.

Review your individual and household prayer plans. This transition into Eastertide is a good opportunity to take stock of how your routine has gone the past few weeks, as well as discuss any changes you might want to make. Spend time in prayer and talking as a household about these changes and how you can deepen your communion with God in prayer. If you haven’t set a prayer routine yet, check out the Weekly Plan from March 22 below.

Take things deeper: If things have been going well and you are hungry for more, add a habit to your routine for the next few weeks.

Boundless Mercy. Join us this weekend (April 17-19) for a weekend dedicated to interceding for others in prayer and to God’s boundless mercy. Learn more about Boundless Mercy and join us here.

Get in some activity. Don’t let those jelly beans win! Spend some time outside and being physically active. You can even set up an Easter-themed workout - easily adaptable for kids!

Take things deeper: Decrease or increase the intensity or reps of the exercises as you need.
