Why should you attend?

Do you want to be healed? Do you desire freedom from unhelpful patterns of thought or sins you can’t seem to break? Are you struggling to understand or help someone else who desires healing or freedom? 

Healing the Whole Person helps you to understand the wounds at the roots of your struggles and how to bring those wounds to the Lord to receive the insight, healing, and freedom God wishes to give, especially through the sacraments and prayer.

If you've participated in a Healing the Whole Person weekend Conference or 8-week series and felt like you wanted more time to go deeper using the tools provided, this retreat is for you. You do not need to have participated in the Conference or 8-week series to attend--that is, all are welcome!

Wherever you find yourself now is not the end of your story. God is here. God has more for you. Into the Deep is time away for God to lead you through.
 

Who is it for?

Healing the Whole Person is for anyone desiring wholeness, freedom, and an encounter with our loving God. It's for adults of all backgrounds and walks of life. If you’re looking for a deeper understanding of God’s love and the healing of your own story, you’ll fit right in!

Healing the Whole Person is for those who desire healing, or to help others receive healing within the Catholic Church. Past participants who have found Healing the Whole Person especially impactful include those who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, anger, addiction, illness, feeling stuck, or patterns of sin they can't seem to break, and those who wish to better accompany or help others who do.
 

What is it?

This 5-day retreat provides ample time to apply the full Healing the Whole Person Teaching to your life in a supportive community of people seeking healing, including a team trained by the John Paul II Healing Center.

You can expect: 

• Sound teaching from the Roman Catholic tradition from Sr. Miriam James Heidland and Dr. Bob Schuchts from the John Paul II Healing Center by pre-recorded video
• Workbook for private journaling activities to apply and pray with the teaching
• Sacraments: Daily Mass, opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, optional time to pray before the Blessed Sacrament in Eucharistic adoration
• Shared prayer experiences facilitated by our local Healing the Whole Person trained team
• An optional individual in-depth healing prayer session with a trained Healing the Whole Person prayer team
• A supportive community of people (including some who are discouraged or doubting) who desire to understand and receive Christ's healing
• Privacy and Compassion - there is no small group component on this retreat, and no one will force you to share personal struggles you may be facing
• Shrine Chapel & House Chapel available for personal prayer, 200 acres of hiking trails
• Shared or Private Bedroom overnight accommodations (commuter option available)
• Meals and snacks
   

How is it different from Healing the Whole Person Weekend Conference or Engaging Your Story?

Into the Deep includes 4 additional teachings not included in the weekend conference. There is plenty of time for praying with 8 journaling activities. Every participant has the opportunity to spend up to an hour with a trained prayer team to pray through your story. A chaplain and the sacraments are available. The team facilitates in-person activities learned from the John Paul II Healing Center to help participants integrate the teaching into our lives.
