Red Mass for government officials, lawyers and judges 2026

The St. Thomas More Lawyers Society of Wisconsin is hosting its annual Red Mass. The Red Mass is a tradition dating back to the 13th century, marking the opening of the court for most European countries. Government officials, lawyers and judges proceed into church wearing red, signifying the fire of the Holy Spirit. The Mass will take place at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Milwaukee. Bishop James T. Schuerman will be the main celebrant.
A reception and dinner will immediately follow Mass at the Wisconsin Club, 900 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee. Registration for the dinner is required. Tickets can be purchased at: tinyurl.com/4peb76s2
