Building the Bridge from the Other Side
by Pat Parks, of the Center For Working Families (C4WF)/Working Boys Center in Quito, Ecuador, which helps poor families in Quito become agents for their own prosperity.
The Importance of Being Present
by Sr. Josefa Irene D. Baquiran , MQHM, of Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries, which works to rescue women and children victims of prostitution and human trafficking in the Philippines.
In recognition of their years of service promoting the global mission of the Church, we will present two missionaries with awards that have been created and named in their honor:
- The Frances Cunningham Bridge Builder Award is presented to a woman who sees each encounter as an opportunity to connect while sharing the Gospel of Christ.
2017 Inaugural Recipient: Frances Cunningham, OSF
- The Rosemary Huddleston Being Present Award is presented to a woman who is willing to identify with and accompany individuals building solidarity with and for causes that impact human dignity.
