Missionary Childhood Association and Other Resources

Here you can find information about organizations throughout the country, such as the Missionary Childhood Association, which have developed materials to assist educators.

Organizations throughout the country have developed many useful materials and resources to assist educators.  Here are some suggested sites:

  • The Missionary Childhood Association, a Pontifical Mission Society, encourages children in this country to know and help children throughout the world. In addition to their site resources, you can sign-up with the MCA to receive newsletters and materials. For more information about materials and membership, visit the MCA site or contact World Mission Ministries.
  • Columban Mission Education provides complete curricula for schools and religious education programs as well as materials for adults.
  • Maryknoll Missionaries provides lesson plans and world area studies for all ages.
  • The Institute for Peace and Justice provides a variety of reflections, prayers, activities, resources and action suggestions for promoting justice and peace. These frequently have an international dimension. The site also has excellent seasonal resources.
  • The Center of Concern, in Washington, DC, has ready to use fact sheets, interactive materials and prayers, as well as a wide range of resources to promote Catholic Social Teaching and social justice issues through interactive group activities and discussions. Online discussions also allow users to share reflections, challenges, best practices, suggestions and questions. There is a subscription fee for using this site.
  • Social Agenda: A Collection of Magisterial Texts. Principal texts of the Church's social doctrine, arranged systematically, are now available for consultation and searching. The link connects to the digital version of the "Social Agenda: A Collection of Magisterial Texts," published in April 2000 by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Polish. The "Social Agenda" contains 75 documents of the magisterium, beginning with St. Clement and St. Augustine, and including recent popes such as Leo XIII and others from the 20th century. It addresses all dimensions of the Church's social teaching.

If you would like a speaker to come to your school, parish, or group, please contact World Mission Ministries at wmo@archmil.org or call 414-758-2280.
