Freedom of Choice Act National Postcard Campaign (FOCA)

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is part of an on-going USCCB national postcard campaign urging our federal elected officials to maintain widely-supported pro-life policies and to oppose the federal funding and promotion of abortion. In particular, the campaign opposes the so-called 'Freedom of Choice Act' (FOCA), which is a radical and divisive pro-abortion bill.

Many parishes have already completed the postcards. If a parish has not and is interested in participating, they may order cards directly from the National Committee for a Human Life Amendment at www.nchla.org.

Once at the website, you may click on an order form (it is right on the front page). Please fill it out and either email or fax your order.

In addition to post cards, personal letters and phone calls tend to be more effective. We are encouraging people to personally contact both U.S. Senators Kohl and Feingold and their individual U.S. Representative and ask them to oppose the federal funding and promotion of abortion and to oppose the Freedom of Choice Act. To find your representative, go to the Wisconsin Catholic Conference website and click on “Advocacy” on the left hand side.

For more information on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's participation in this effort, contact Rob Shelledy, the Coordinator of Social Justice Ministry, at 414-758-2286 or shelledyr@archmil.org.
