ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable Administration

Prepare and post all billing transactions to student receivable accounts

Accept and post all in-school payments to student receivable accounts
-
Monitor past due student receivable accounts and follow up as necessary
-
present seriously delinquent accounts to the V.P. of Finance for appropriate action
-
Assist with the annual dissemination of electronic student Enrollment Contracts
Cash Handling
-
Receive and scan all daily cash receipts and accompanying documentation
-
Make daily remote deposit of incoming checks
-
Prepare daily deposit of incoming cash and currency
-
Maintain petty cash fund
-
Prepare and issue change funds as needed
Accounts Payable Administration
-
Maintain accounts payable email inbox
-
Route incoming invoices to appropriate parties for payment approval
-
Enter approved invoices into the accounts payable system
-
Maintain vendor files in accounts payable system
-
Generate check payments and post related transactions to the general ledger
-
Respond to vendor inquiries.
Other
-
Assist with daily mail opening and posting of outgoing mail
-
Reserve and check out school credit cards
-
Perform other general business office backup and support as requested
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

An understanding of basic bookkeeping principles

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong analytical and mathematical skills

Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and the willingness to embrace new technologies

Ability to manage multiple projects with efficiency and accuracy

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Capacity to maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times

Experience working in an educational institution is a plus.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
This position is supervised by the Director of Accounting.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position involves frequent bending, lifting and repetitive motion and the use of computers and office equipment.
