Help maintain sensory regulation through use of sensory room and push-in/pull-out instruction for students with identified needs

Help organize, prepare, and modify various activities for students

Provide students with individualized specialized instruction according to their IEP/service plans or by teacher request

Work independently or in small groups with students by teacher request or as needed to provide appropriate specialized instruction

Assess students’ progress throughout the school year through accurate record keeping and progress monitoring

Assist in daily routine activities in the classroom: transition assistance, provision of guidance to paraprofessionals (schedules, guidance in appropriate accommodations and modifications, collaborative problem solving, institution of UDL practices)

Assist classroom teachers during structured learning time with push-in instruction

Attend and communicate effectively with classroom teachers and other school personnel about Service and IEP plans and meetings

Attend team meetings to plan for upcoming activities and assessments

Communicate with parents regularly as stipulated by IEP, service plans, or as needed based on the child’s circumstance to provide information pertaining to implementation of service plan/IEP

Keep teachers and parents informed of insights as to potential problems or unusual events; create plans to resolve issues in a timely manner

Maintain confidentiality regarding any school/records/workplace matters

Meet regularly with the principal
