Teaching
Job Summary: Prayerful and actively educates and enhances each student's life by academic engagement, behavior, and spiritual growth rooted in the life of Christ. Builds a partnership with school parents to support lifelong learning of their child in the community.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic
- Postsecondary degree in Catholic theology preferred but not required
- One of the following:
- State teacher license
- Bachelor's degree with at least 12 semester hours of credit in teacher education from an accredited institution as part of, or in addition to, the degree
- A teacher in need of up to 12 credit hours must submit a plan of study to the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office for Schools by October 1st of the year of the initial contract for the position. The teacher will have three years from the commencement date of the initial contract to complete required credit hours
- Bachelor's degree and an individualized plan of study to attain licensure/certification approved by the Archdiocese.
- Basic Religious Education Certification preferred but not required
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a faith-filled environment for learners by:
- Managing student behavior guided by Gospel values
- Establishing classroom routines, rules, and procedures consistent with school policies
- Communicating high expectations for learning
- Creating a faith-filled environment that engages the whole student
- Works with families as partners in the child's education by providing feedback on student progress to families and engaging families as partners in the educational process ad the lift of the school
- Serve as a role model for Catholic values for students and families
- Demonstrate professional demeanor and attitude in alignment with the school's mission
- Take responsibility for professional growth
- Open and applies to feedback
- Demonstrate a commitment towards spiritual growth in the context of the Catholic School
- Collaborate with colleagues
