Finance Council and Pastoral Council Norms

Because the current Finance and Pastoral Council Norms have been approved by Archbishop Jerome Listecki as of March 2, 2020, all parishes are required to submit updated appendices using the current appendix templates and instructions, which are also available for viewing.

Appendix for Local Practices and Procedures

The templates and instructions are available for parishes to implement or review the appendices for Parish Finance and Pastoral Councils.

NOTE:  If you have difficulties opening the templates and get the message that this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action, you can still access the form(s) with some additional steps, basically, because the computer doesn’t know how to open the file (even though it is a Word document). 

• Go back to the downloaded form that appears at the bottom of your screen.
• Right click on it and choose “show in folder.”  This will bring up your “Download” folder.
• Double-click on the document.  That will bring up a box asking how to open the file.
• Click on “Word 2016” and “OK.”  That will open the file.

NOTE:  With the updated Norms, the Finance Council and Pastoral Council are required to review and update their appendices so that they are in sync with the updated Norms.  Send any updated appendix to the Office of Missionary Planning and Leadership after approved so that the most current copy is on file.

The Parish Councils Manual was updated in 2016 and includes Finance and Pastoral Council information.
