BOUNDLESS MERCY

Wrapping the Globe in God's Unconditional Mercy
April 17-19, 2020

WHAT CAN I DO?

Many Catholics have been asking, What can I do?" amidst these trying times. We see our brothers and sisters in need, struggling, suffering, and we may feel powerless to offer concrete aid. While we may be "staying at home," our merciful actions, words, and prayers are powerful and know no boundaries. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee invites you to join a initative to wrap our world in mercy during the weekend of April 17-19, 2020 through actions, words, and prayers for your families, friends, neighbors, and all of those who have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

St. Faustina records Jesus' words, "I am giving you three ways of exercising mercy toward your neighbor: the first - by actions, the second - by word, the third - by prayer. In these degrees is contained the fullness of mercy, and it is an unquestionable proof of love for me. By this means a soul glorifies and pays reverence to My mercy.” (Diary, 742)

ACTS OF MERCY

Consider making a specific "act of mercy" throughout the weekend. Think creatively about how you can bless your neighbors around you; Offering to go to the grocery store for someone who is unable? Do a chore for someone in your house? Whatever it might be, we'd encourage you to make a "gift of yourself" by selflessly loving another through an act of mercy this weekend.

WORDS OF MERCY

Consider speaking a specific "word of mercy" to someone this weekend. During this difficult time, every person could use a word of encouragement. affirmation, or message of forgiveness. Whatever it might be, there are opportunities to speak mercy.

PRAYERS OF MERCY

Sign up for a time slot over the 40 hours from April 17th at 11:00 p.m. to April 19th at 3:00 p.m. to intercede for those who have been affected by COVID-19. For your time of prayer, we'd encourage you to specifically pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet becuase April 19th is known as Divine Mercy Sunday. This is a Catholic devotional prayer that is a simple prayer (similar to the Rosary) and only takes 10 minutes to pray. Our goal is to have at least one person praying at all times during these 40 hours.
