[Listening] is not just a means of communication, but actually a virtue. When we listen, we are telling someone they are important, and we value what they have to say. It's an affirmation of their dignity as a member of God's creation. So, maybe during this Lent, we work a little harder at listening. If we do, I think we'll grow in holiness, and, as my great uncle Gil would say, we might learn a lot, too.
