Career Readiness Instructor & Student Relations Associate

Position Summary

The Career Readiness Instructor & Student Support Coordinator plays a critical role in the success of Cristo Rey’s Corporate Work Study Program by teaching and coaching students in essential career skills while managing their professional performance and behavior throughout the school year. This position is responsible for delivering instruction, facilitating reflective learning experiences, and providing classroom and behavior management aligned with Jesuit values and workplace standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, highly relational, culturally responsive, and deeply committed to the formation of young professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Classroom Management

  • Teach and lead structured career readiness curriculum in a classroom setting as part of the CWSP model.
  • Deliver weekly instruction that emphasizes professional behavior, workplace communication, time management, and soft skill development. Deliver weekly instructions via programming such as Make48, REX-12, and others. 
  • Manage classroom behavior through proactive, student-centered strategies that support growth and accountability. Give students a daily timecard reflecting CWSP policy and work performance.
  • Oversee all undeployed students as members of the CWSP Student Worker Pool, collaborating on curriculum, supervision, and task assignments in coordination with school staff.
  • Assign and track meaningful on-campus work for student workers based on teacher and staff needs.
  • Support and instruct students participating in Summer Bridge programming 

Student Development & Support

  • Serve as the immediate supervisor for students assigned to the CWSP team, supporting their work performance and professional growth. Supervision will last all school hours.
  • Lead and manage morning CWSP van dismissal, in partnership with CWSP Operations staff, assisting with announcements, crowd management, and student attendance.
  • Monitor daily student work attendance and oversee completion and accuracy of timecards.
  • Assist in communication with families regarding student performance, attendance, and behavior.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to students navigating workplace challenges or the CWSP retraining process.

Program Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Student Relations to design and execute programming for undeployed students and those undergoing retraining.
  • Use data systems such as Salesforce and PowerSchool to track and report on student performance and outcomes.
  • Participate in daily CWSP operational duties, including van dismissal and backup front desk and transportation coverage.
  • Monitor student performance through Salesforce, using tools such as “Timecards by Date,” and “Unsubmitted Timecards”

Community Engagement

  • Translate written and verbal communication as needed to support engagement with Spanish-speaking families and employers for CWSP.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, respect, and accountability that reflects Cristo Rey values both on and off campus.
  • Actively contribute to a mission-driven, team-oriented environment focused on holistic student success.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by CWSP management.  

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certification preferred
  • 1 – 5 years of direct teaching experience with proven classroom management skills
  • Fluency in Spanish highly desired, but not required
  • Strong relationship building skills, particularly with adolescents and their families
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven atmosphere, faith‐based organization
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Technology skills desired for use of Salesforce, PowerSchool, Google Suite, and Constant Contact
  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the student body
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Strong personal alignment with the mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
