Communications Coordinator

Position Responsibilities for Six Parishes:

Weekly

  • Produce, edit supplied content and submit a multi-parish bulletin every Monday & Wednesday outside of holidays. Point of contact for content. Point of contact with Liturgical Publications.
  • Social media posts. IE Facebook, Instagram etc.
  • Addressing email, website or general tech issues.
  • Create flyer/graphics for various liturgical celebrations.
  • Maintain and update websites.
  • Maintain distribution email addresses.

Monthly

  • Create and distribute E-newsletter.
  • Monitor display boards at parishes.
  • Update electronic signs using WordFire.
  • Send new parishioner registrations to administrative assistants and add email addresses to e-newsletter lists.

Seasonal

  • Create flyers/graphics for parish events.
  • Create volunteer signup pages using Signup Genius.
  • Renewal of domains for email and websites.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BA in communications or course work in a related communications field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Publisher/Canva/Adobe or similar.
  • Proficient with social media (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/You Tube)
  • Experience with Squarespace platform for websites and Gmail a plus.
  • Knowledge of Catholic Teaching.
  • Familiar with archdiocesan rules of communication.

Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate above average communication skills in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be goal-oriented, striving for accuracy, solid production level, and accomplishing responsibilities with a minimal amount of supervision and support.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff, volunteers and committees.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality standards of the parish.
  • Capable of prioritizing work and multi-tasking as needed to meet deadlines in a busy office/work environment.
  • Must complete the archdiocese of Milwaukee “Safeguarding All God’s Family” program prior to employment including a background check.
  • Supply references upon request.

ADA Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, speak clearly and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
  • Close vision is required for paperwork and computer monitor.
  • Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor and telephone.
  • This role functions in an office environment and uses standard office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Notes
This position is part-time, 24 hours a week. It is a hybrid position with the ability to work from home but must be available for in-person bi-weekly meetings with the priests and monthly staff meetings. The position starts at $21.00 per hour. With the right candidate, there may be room for negotiation. Eligible for pro-rated vacation and sick time with an average of 20 hours worked weekly.
