Program Development and Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive faith formation programs for students in grades K-11, ensuring they align with diocesan guidelines and Catholic teachings.
- Oversee sacramental preparation porgrams for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
- Plan and coordinate special events such as retreats, service projects, family faith nights, and liturgical celebrations.
- Organize, recruit, and facilitate catechist training and provide ongoing formation for volunteers and staff involved in the faith formation programs.
Student Engagement:
- Encourage and support student participation in parish life, including liturgies, community service, and other activities that deepen their faith.
- Provide pastoral care to students, offering guidance, encouragement, and spiritual direction.
- Foster an environment where students feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Christ.
Parental and Family Involvement:
- Act as a resource for parents, offering guidance and support as they navigate their children's faith formation journey.
- Organize family events that promote the shared faith life of families and encourage active participation in the Church.
- Provide resources and workshops for parents to support the faith development of their children at home.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, sacramental preparation, and progress.
- Prepare and manage the faith formation program's budget and ensure all necessary materials and resources are available.
- Communicate regularly with parents, volunteers, and parish staff regarding program updates, schedules, and upcoming events.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with parish clergy, staff, and diocesan leadership to ensure the vision of the faith formation program is aligned with the overall mission of the parish.
- Work closely with other ministry leaders (youth ministry, liturgical minstry, etc.) to integrate faith formation across all parish activities.
- Coordinate the recruitment, training, and support of catechists and other volunteers who assist in the program, including Safe Environment training.
Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing professional and spiritual development to stay current with best practices in faith formation and Catholic theology.
- Attend diocesan training and workshops related to religious education and sacramental preparation.
Confidentiality:
- Ensuring all Church records, parishioner information, and correspondence are handled confidentially and securely.
