Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Student Success Center, ensuring services support the whole child and align with Catholic values.
Student Support Plans & Progress Monitoring
Manage and maintain all student support plans based on psychoeducational evaluations or diagnosed learning needs
Coordinate and lead beginning-of-year meetings with staff and families to review plans, accommodations, and goals.
Monitor academic and behavioral progress through data collection and observation.
Conduct regular follow-up meetings with teachers and families to review and update goals and strategies.
Support teachers with practical tools and documentation to apply accommodations in the classroom.
Support testing processes for students who qualify for accommodations.
Serve as the primary liaison between the school and external professionals, including educational psychologists, therapists, and public school special education departments.
In-Class Support & Small Group Instruction
Provide push-in academic support in classrooms based on grade-level and individual student needs.
Lead small group instruction for literacy, math, and skill-building as appropriate.
Establish and support teachers in implementing Response to Intervention (RTI) procedures for students with suspected but undiagnosed learning differences.
Teacher Support and Collaboration
Coach and support faculty in the use of effective, inclusive teaching practices and behavior management strategies.
Provide ongoing professional development related to learning differences, executive functioning, differentiated instruction, accommodations, and classroom supports.
Collaborate with the principal and teacher leader of the St. Francis Borgia Virtues program to incorporate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons into the monthly initiatives.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, priests, and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas of concern.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, school liturgies, and other school events.
Professional Development:
Receive and implement feedback given by colleagues and administration.
Participate fully in Sustaining the Mission to achieve catechetical certification (Basic and Advanced) and to explore spiritual growth opportunities.
Model lifelong learning by serving on faculty committees and seeking out professional development opportunities.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education, curriculum and instruction, educational psychology, school counseling, or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years experience in education, with at least 2 years in leadership or student support.
Knowledge of best teaching practices, learning differences, accommodations, and federal/state laws pertaining to students with special needs.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Practicing Catholic (preferred) or willingness to support the school’s faith-based mission.
Completed Safe Environment Training and background check prior to start date.
