Director of Youth Formation

The Director of Youth Formation will be expected to work 40 hours or more per week
including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements catechetical instruction complimented by discipleship and
relational apostolate.
- Fosters and provides opportunities for youth, and the entire parish community at
large, to learn and grow in faith and grow in stewardship.
- Recruit and train core group of adult volunteers within each area of youth ministry.
- Organizes and participates in other offerings for youth within the Archdiocese of
Milwaukee and beyond (ex: AriseMKE, Steubenville Conferences, Wisconsin Catholic
Youth Rally, camps, retreats, and mission trips/service projects).
- Leads yearly parish retreat for youth preparing for confirmation and service
opportunities aimed at spiritual growth and development for junior and high school
teens.
- Manage and monitor budget and expenses.
- Other duties as assigned.

Nature of Supervision Received:
This position receives moderate supervision and is expected to often work independently.
Judgement Exercised/Decisions Made.
Employee is expected to take initiative and make decisions based on the mission and vision of
the parish and school, under the direction of the Pastor, and in collaboration with the entire
faith formation department. Employee is expected to work with the allocated budget and
coordinate financial decisions with supervisor.


Number of Employees Supervised:
This position does supervise numerous volunteers, but at this time does not supervise
employees.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Practicing Roman Catholic with an understanding of and love for the Catholic faith.
- Experience and familiarity with Theological studies
- Previous parish experience, preferred
- Must be flexible with availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, presentation, and leadership.
- Strong work ethic and a joyful energy to inspire youth and work with volunteers.
- Working knowledge of digital media and communications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- ADA physical requirements.
