Qualifications

As a first grade teacher at Burlington Catholic School, candidates are required to: 

• have a bachelors degree
• have a valid teaching license to teach elementary education or a willingness to complete a plan of study to gain appropriate credits in the education field
• have experience working with students at the primary age
• create student-driven, age appropriate lessons, units, and centers that follow the Archdiocesan exit expectations
• have a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, most importantly, with one’s partner teacher and learning support staff
• have strong communication skills both verbal and written
• be comfortable with implementing technology in one’s teaching and / or willingness to learn 
• have certification in (or willingness to get) Safeguarding All God’s People
