Head School Custodian

  • Keeps school building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times

  • Performs periodic cleaning and maintenance duties as outlined in work schedules developed according to industry standards

  • Evaluates, and if necessary, adjusts cleaning schedules with staff and/or contracted services to meet the daily needs of the building

  • Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair; making such minor repairs as he/she is capable of, and reporting major repairs needed  promptly to the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor

  • Ensures building security is maintained at all times, including locking doors and leaving on only required lights 

  • Assists in groundskeeping work to include shoveling/salting sidewalks, grass cutting, and other outdoor landscape work

  • Performs tasks for the North and South Church buildings and grounds as needed

  • Availablity to work in rotation for some holidays, weddings, funerals and other special events on evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • High School diploma 

  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license

  • Dependable and conscientious with a strong work ethic

  • Knowledge of materials, equipment and methods commonly used in general cleaning and maintenance work, ability to lift 80 pounds

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and carry out cleaning and minor maintenance duties with a minimum of supervision 

  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities

  • Must be able to obtain certification with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Safe Environment program, including a federal and state background check.

This is a first shift, full-time, hourly position. The position includes a full benefit package with health insurance, paid vacation and sick time, and a pension plan.
