St. Joseph Catholic Academy is seeking a dynamic High School English teacher to join our talented faculty for the 202-2026 academic year. SJCA is a comprehensive, 3K-12 Catholic college preparatory school with a 100% high school graduation rate and 100% college acceptance rate. The ideal candidate should have AP experience preferrably.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Wisconsin teaching certification in English (DPI license 1300)
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate content-area expertise in secondary English instruction
- Develop and effectively implement rigorous classroom curricula aligned with SJCA’s sequential and standardized curricular goals
- Create a welcoming classroom environment for all students that reflects and further enhances SJCA’s respectful culture of learning
- Demonstrate facility in using current instructional technologies to engage and promote student learning
- Adapt instructional content and teaching strategies to suit individual and class needs.
- Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues and other SJCA faculty and staff
- Communicate regularly and proactively with SJCA families regarding students’ academic progress.
- Supervise student activities within the classroom and other areas as assigned in accordance with SJCA’s high expectations for student behavior
- Attend all teacher in-services, faculty and department meetings, and professional development and faith formation workshops.
- Participate in additional school-related activities, including but not limited to: Open House, Graduation, New Student Registration Nights, placement testing, student dance supervision, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Annual Gala, and Back to School events.
- Perform additional program duties as assigned by the high school Principal.
