High School Math Teacher

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning for instruction of assigned courses in the content area by developing annual, unit, and lesson plans that align with the curriculum and address individual needs of their students.
  • Incorporating technology to effectively create a 21st century learning environment within the classroom. Establishing and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
  • Support academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical development of every student. Promote student development of the whole person — mind, body, and spirit.
  • Collaborating with the content department and other faculty members.
  • Maintaining accurate student records using formative and summative assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/families to share academic progress and develop a supportive home- school relationship.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development.
  • Cooperating with the principal and department chair in the planning and development of curriculum.

  • Working Environment:
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Assist with other administrative duties in school operations as needed.
  • Must be able to tolerate noise.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must have correctable hearing and sight.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to work with all common office equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree or better in education or content area
  • Preferred candidates will hold a valid teaching certificate, but this is not required.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of SJA.
  • Pass an Archdiocesan background check and complete Safe Environment training requirements.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to self-motivate, self-direct, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and strategically with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and donor management systems.
  • Familiarity with project management software, Asana preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
