Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, WI is seeking its next Principal beginning in the summer of 2026. Catholic Memorial High School was founded by the parishioners of St. Joseph Parish in 1949. The school stands as a living memorial to 29 young men who gave their lives for their country. 

CMH is an International Baccalaureate World School also offering Advance Placement courses as well. CMH is a college preparatory high school recognized for providing an outstanding and inspiring student experience that is rooted in the Catholic faith, emphasizing high academic rigor matched by high student support. Recent recognition includes Exemplary Recognition for Academic Excellence from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and a Project Lead The Way Distinguished school for eight consecutive years for STEM curriculum. Catholic Memorial High School’s mission is to educate students as individuals, intellectually and spiritually. The school guides students to work to their highest, God-given potential. Catholic Memorial prepares them for post-secondary education and to become leaders who serve the Church and the world.

 

Summary:

The Principal is the school’s Chief Academic Officer, and, as such, is the professional staff person in the school responsible for the daily internal operations and all academic affairs. The Principal reports to the school President and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The Principal has direct oversight of the Dean of Students, faculty, and academic guidance department. The Principal is an active participant and leader in the implementation and execution of the school’s strategic plan.

The Principal is the recognized educational leader of the school and is thus responsible for all duties to maintain a smooth daily operation of the school, while ensuring the continual advancement of Catholic Memorial High School as the leader in Catholic formation and educational excellence. The principal is responsible for fostering academic partnerships with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office of Catholic Schools, local Catholic high schools, and elementary schools, as well as regional institutions of higher education and local businesses.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Academic and Student Programs as detailed in the strategic plan.
  • Integrate the Catholic faith within the CMH community.
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and evaluate faculty and support staff involved in the day-to-day operation of the school.
  • Create a positive culture among faculty and academic employees.
  • Serve as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors, participate in regular meetings.
  • Lead the Education Committee. Attend all other committee meetings as needed and requested.
  • Develop curriculum and academic programs, ensuring appropriate implementation.
  • Use data to measure student outcomes and academic success of the school and build continual improvement plans based on the data.
  • Responsible for School Accreditation and implementation of all academic goals and improvements.
  • Responsible for oversight and successful implementation and outcomes of all academic programs including but not limited to International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and Project lead the Way.
  • Collaborate and communicate with parents on a timely basis.
  • Ensure the policies and/or regulations of the School Board of Directors are adhered to within the school and at all school sanctioned events.
  • Collaborate with all leaders of the school to ensure a safe environment.
  • Lead daily school operations.

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Department of Public Instruction certification as Principal or completion of certification within the timing guidelines provided by the Milwaukee Archdiocese and Accreditation Oversight Authority.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
