This position provides financial administration and office management for St. Patrick Catholic Church, Whitewater. The Business Manager is responsible for providing financial and administrative oversight and counsel to make for an efficient and fiscally responsible parish, in compliance with the Pastor and Finance Council, and the overall mission and vision of St. Patrack Parish. This position reports to the Pastor and collaborates with the Pastor, staff, pastoral and finance councils, committees, parishioners, and Archdiocese of financial and business-related matters within the framework of Catholic values.
Administrative management duties include supervising the parish secretary and performing required daily office tasks.
Financial Management:
Prepares and reviews monthly financial reports using QuickBooks.
Oversees the processing and reporting of Parish revenue from all sources
Performs account reconciliations
Administers a cash flow management system with pruchasing and payment schedules clearly defined
Manages and archives Parish documents.
Prepares for and attends monthly finance council meetings.
Prepares and monitors the annual budget in collaboration with ministry staff, Pastor, parish committees and finance council.
Interfaces with Archdiocese on all financial matters in coordination with Pastor and trustees.
Posts and publishes the status of parish financials in the bulletin.
Provides information to the payroll processing company and monitors payroll activity.
Administrative Management:
Supervises the Parish Secretary.
Supervises the money counters and records deposits.
Supervises website updates.
Oversees the bulletin-making process.
Supervises updating of Parish Soft for parishioner statements and information required by the Archdiocese.
Supervises maintenance of parish email list for timely communication.
Oversees Mass intentions and Mass Stipend processing.
Qualifications
College graduate or equivalent experience.
Minimum of three years experience in business or management.
Computer skills and knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Practicing Catholic preferred.
Experience on parish committees and events is a plus.
