Reading Resource Teacher

St. Matthew School has an opening for a part-time Reading Resource Teacher starting in the 2025-2026 school year.  The primary responsibilities of the part-time Reading Resource Teacher will be to:

  • Provide targeted reading instruction and intervention to students in need of additional support.
  • ​Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administration to analyze data and implement effective strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices aligned with Wisconsin Act 20 and current literacy research about the Science of Reading.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Support a positive, faith-based learning environment in alignment with Catholic values.


SCHEDULE: Flexible

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wisconsin Act 20 and current research-based reading interventions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  • A commitment to upholding Catholic values inthe classroom.
  • Adhere to Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Completion of Safe Environment training prior to employment.


PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
Degree in Education or related-field.
Valid, or in progress, Wisconsin Reading teaching license (#1316/316) with a literacy or reading specialist certification.
Experience in reading intervention or literacy coaching.
Familiarity with assessment tools and data-driven instruction.
Practicing Catholic.
