Support the implementation of school counseling curriculum and other curricula designed to promote emotional development of students.

Teach guidance classes in grades K3-8 related to social emotional development, as well as, counsel individual and small groups.

Refer students and families to outside mental health agencies and resources as needed.

Be a visible member of the student, parent and faculty community, actively participating in the life of the school to become aware of issues general to the student body or specific to individual students who could benefit from counseling resources.

Create learning support plans for students with mental health or behavioral concerns in collaboration with classroom teachers.

Provide support for parents regarding the mental health and well-being of their children.

Collaborate effectively with all teachers, aides and support staff school and parish wide.

Keep the principal leadership team informed of sensitive and escalated issues, meetings and conversations with members of the school community.

Collaborate with faculty and administration to plan, implement and assess student learning.

Maintain confidential student records in compliance with school policy, state and federal regulations.

Perform duties as requested.
