Science Teacher (Full-Time 2025-26)

Responsibilities:

  • For the 2025-26 school year, Teach 5 sections of science: 1 section of Earth Science, 3 sections of Chemistry and 1 section of Honors Chemistry (courses may change in subsequent years).
  • Staff the ALPHA Center, seeking to support, instruct and encourage each student who comes in for help.
  • Collaborate with Science Department members to build camaraderie and share resources and ideas.
  • With equity in mind, plan lessons, create assignments and assessments, create labs, and develop other classroom opportunities to provide an engaging learning experience for all students.
  • Commit to helping all students, regardless of their background, prior preparation or skill level, grow in science understanding and skill application, and grow in the Qualities of the Graduate.   • Demonstrate a dedication to learning about our Catholic mission, and then put into practice our Catholic mission and our Quality values, supporting students and colleagues in this endeavor.
  • Commit to continuous improvement through a focus on lifelong learning and professional collaboration across the institution.
  • Additional supervision and/or co-curricular or student club support and duties including as the DSHA/MUHS Robotics Team Liaison and as needed (e.g., Den, study hall, lunch supervision, co-curricular or club support, etc.).

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics, broad field science or an appropriate subject area, a WI DPI license or the ability to attain one within three years of hire, and high school teaching experience.  A master’s degree would be beneficial, but not required. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Highly effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a strong desire to assist all students to be successful are also required.

Work Environment: 

The work takes place primarily in an office/school environment. There is occasional travel.
