St. Matthias Parish Office Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Office management: 
    • Maintaining an organized and welcoming office environment,
    • handling correspondence,
    • managing office supplies and equipment,
    • and overseeing general office operations.
  • Communication: 
    • Serving as a central point of contact for members, visitors, and vendors,
    • answering phones,
    • responding to emails,
    • and disseminating church information through various channels (e.g., bulletins, newsletters, social media).
  • Record keeping: 
    • Maintaining accurate and confidential church records, including membership information, contributions, and event attendance.
  • Scheduling and event coordination: 
    • Managing the church calendar,
    • scheduling appointments,
    • coordinating meetings, a
    • nd assisting with the planning and execution of church events and activities.
  • Administrative assistance: 
    • Providing support to the pastor, staff, and ministry teams as needed, which may include preparing documents, scheduling appointments, or assisting with special projects.

Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous administrative or secretarial experience is beneficial, preferably within a church or non-profit setting.
  • Technical proficiency: Comfort and familiarity with common computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace, as well as church management software (ChMS) for tasks like record-keeping, event planning, and communication.

Compensation is $15 - $19/hour, based on qualifications and experience, plus a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to health, dental and vision insurance, vacation, etc.
