Technology Support Specialist - Siena Catholic Schools of Racine

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user technology support and equipment maintenance at multiple locations throughout the Siena Catholic Schools network.
  • Assist with various technology projects as directed, including equipment inventory and device distribution.
  • Advise Siena leadership and IT Manager on cyber security issues/trends to ensure the safety and integrity of data is maintained.  Install, troubleshoot and monitor security cameras in conjunction with investigations and changes to security posture of the school.
  • Monitor, maintain and manage copiers, printers, and all functions related to direct and cloud printing.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose FOB card access software and school PA system issues.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of tasks through helpdesk software.
  • Establish, monitor, and achieve technology goals with minimal supervision.
  • Occasionally lead staff professional development (PD) to improve staff knowledge and usage of IT for educational purposes.  Keep abreast of education AI issues and other software to assist with formulation of policies related to its usage 
  • Support staff in maximizing educational software uses and use cases. 
  • Assists with IT setups for meetings, training and other events during and occasionally after normal business hours as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an associate degree in computer systems, information technology, or related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification 
  • At least three years of experience in the IT field, preferably in education
  • Ability to be on call when necessary.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Interact with teaching staff, principals and students with ability to prioritize as needed.
  • Ability to be flexible with tasks to adapt to changing demands.
  • Ability to to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, and iOS operating systems,  Microsoft Office and Google G Suite.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with proactive problem solving skills and habits.
  • Professional, courteous demeanor with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, collaboratively and positively with co-workers, staff, students, public and administration.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple, competing priorities.

Work Relationships & Scope

Reports to the IT Manager. Frequent contact with all Siena employees and leadership, students and families of students and third party contractors.

Work is performed in a pleasant indoor school environment. May be exposed to heat, cold, wet and high humidity when traveling between sites. Work hours are somewhat flexible but generally 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Travel to other local Siena sites is required daily. Ability to work longer hours, as needed.

  • Ability to perform reaching and handling tasks for medium-duty to intricate work.
  • Walking up and down stairs
  • Standing/walking for more than 50% of the day
  • Occasionally lifting (from ground and also overhead) and carrying up to 50 pounds
