Bishops statement on protestors storming the Capitol building

A statement from the bishops of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee regarding the January 6 protests:

Today’s news of protestors storming the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. as Congress convened to count the votes of the Electoral College and the subsequent lockdown, is disturbing and unsettling for all of us. Let us pray for calm, peace and order, that we might resume our nation’s proud tradition as we approach a transition of power. God bless America!

Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki
Archbishop of Milwaukee

Most Reverend Jeffrey R. Haines
Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee

Most Reverend James T. Schuerman
Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee
