Catholic Stewardship Appeal Generates Record $8 Million in Support for Archdiocese of Milwaukee
For the first time in Appeal history, the Catholic Stewardship Appeal (CSA), the annual fundraising campaign of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, has surpassed its goal of $7.65 million for a record-breaking $8,015,304 in 2016. The increase, coupled with the on-going success of Archdiocesan Synod priorities taking pace throughout the 10 counties, is a clear sign that the Catholic Church is alive and thriving in southeastern Wisconsin.
The Appeal affords Catholics an opportunity to help support a broad range of ministries and programs that significantly benefit more than 500,000 people each year. Under the effective leadership of co-chairs Maureen and Jim Stern, the 2016 Appeal themed ‘Transformed by the Spirit,’ helped boost confidence and morale within the archdiocese. Parishioners and pastors rallied to ensure that the Church in southeastern Wisconsin continues to have the resources to strengthen and expand its mission.
“This increase in charitable giving is testament to the fact that our Catholic community is committed to supporting a broad spectrum of life-changing ministries and programs that profoundly impact people’s lives,” said Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki. “The Appeal provides significant support for the Church to continue its spiritual, charitable and educational mission in southeastern Wisconsin.”
