Statement from Archbishop Regarding Molson Coors Shooting

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of six lives after yesterday’s shooting at the Molson Coors campus here in Milwaukee. The loss of five innocent lives by the action of a deeply wounded individual has now sent shock waves into our community and our homes. To the families, friends and coworkers affected by these losses please know of our prayers for you during this difficult time.

With firm resolve, especially as we have just entered this solemn season of repentance and renewal, I ask our Milwaukee community to once again strive for peace and an end to violence. Our efforts must not tire. As Catholics, I ask that our Lenten fasts this week be offered for this intention and for all those who have lost their lives in our community to violence.

Together, let us pray. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
