JCC Announces Holocaust Essay Contest

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center has announced the topic for the annual Holocaust Essay Contest.  Students in grades 7 through 12 are invited to submit essays addressing the following question: During World War II, many countries were occupied or influenced by the Nazis.  Discuss and give examples of how people in at least one country helped Jews.  What do you think you would do in a similar situation and why?

All submissions are due by February 18, 2013.  Award winners will be announced and presented on April 7, 2013 at the Yom Hashoah Commemoration.  Winners in each category will receive a trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. and a book donated to their school.
