Service to the Church: John Paul II Youth Award

The Vatican II awards were established in 1991 to honor men, women and young adults who exemplify the Catholic Church’s vision set forth in the Second Vatican Council.

Service to the Church: John Paul II Youth

Criteria for This Award:
The recipient must

• be a young Catholic (age 15 -25)
• have been involved in a significant way in one or more Church activities (e.g. educational, liturgical, pastoral, administrative)
• be known as committed to his/her faith and love Jesus
• be recognized by peers as a leader in faith-based activities
• have a practical and working approach to the Consistent Life Ethic

Note: In the past, the youth category used to consist of three different sections: Vatican II Youth Award for Service to the Church, Vatican II Youth Award for Service in Education and Vatican II Youth Award for Service to Society. Beginning in 2011, we combined all three into one category, Service to the Church: John Paul II Youth.
