The Deacon Servant Newsletter
New look and new direction for our combined newsletters.
This is our “new” deacon newsletter: “The Deacon Servant.” After some thinking and discusion between our Office for Diaconate Formation and the Office for Deacon Services, we have decided to combine the efforts of both departments to publish one deacon newsletter. Deacon Talk (Services) and The Servant (Formation) will now be called The Deacon Servant. Will continue to be an information tool for those interested in knowing about the Diaconate Program and Deacon Life and Ministry of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Deacons and Candidates Presence Maps
Our Communication Department, together with our Diaconate Formation and Deacon Services offices, has developed some maps to show where are Deacons and Candidates are serving. This tool will help to have a vision of the deacon presence in our Archdiocese. These maps also show where this presence is needed. And where are the men responding to the call to be servants for the Church. They will be updated as needed. You can see the maps here.
Continuing Education for Deacons and Wives
“The National Directory for the Formation, Life and Ministry of Permanent Deacons in the United States” presented by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops stated that the ordained Deacon and wife need to continue their formation throught continuing education. The Office for Diaconate Formation in coordination with the Office for Continuing Education for Clergy and the Office for Deacon Services, is offering a variety of opportunities for the ordained deacons and wives to continue their formation, growth in their diaconal ministry, optain the faculties or get “refreshed” in the new teachings of the “Magisterium” of the Catholic Church. Please see the information on courses, workshops and "tracks" in our pamphlet.
Bulletin ads, brochures and posters are all ready to print for parishes to use to promote the permanent diaconate.
