"Inquiry for Discernment Program" Schedule:
Those considering the Diaconate should first reflect on their qualities and qualifications, and decide whether they are suited to serve. For those men interested, we are offering a series of sessions to help them discern the call to the Permanent Diaconate. This "Inquiry for Discernment Program" is offered by region. Here is the complete schedule:
Racine Area: SPRING 2019 (South) CANCELED
Oconomowoc Area: SPRING 2019 (West #2)
Milwaukee Area: SUMMER 2019 (Central)
NOTE: We will be posting more dates and regions as they become available. Participation in all six sessions is required for men interested in exploring a vocation to the diaconate (WIVES ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS, IF MARRIED). Inquirers should contact the Office for Diaconate Formation for a preliminary interview before or at least during the first two sessions (if they haven't do so).

The Office for Diaconate Formation (ODF) provides distinct ministry preparation for Catholic men discerning a vocation calling to the permanent diaconate. The ODF counsels, guides and forms men who encounter Christ and seek a deeper, permanent response to a perceived call to be servants of God's people through ministry in the Church.

Continuing Education for Deacons and Wives
“The National Directory for the Formation, Life and Ministry of Permanent Deacons in the United States” presented by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops stated that the ordained Deacon and wife need to continue their formation throught continuing education. The Office for Diaconate Formation in coordination with the Office for Continuing Education for Clergy and the Office for Deacon Services, is offering a variety of opportunities for the ordained deacons and wives to continue their formation, growth in their diaconal ministry, optain the faculties or get “refreshed” in the new teachings of the “Magisterium” of the Catholic Church.
