Priest Death Notice

Reverend Jeffery Albert Prasser, died on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at the age of 61.

Born on June 30, 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Father Prasser began his priestly formation at De Sales Preparatory Seminary in 1983; continuing his studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, 1984-1986 and at Saint Francis de Sales Major Seminary in 1986.  He was ordained to the priesthood by Most Reverend Rembert G. Weakland, O.S.B., Archbishop of Milwaukee, on May 20, 1989.

Father’s first assignment was as Associate Pastor at Mary Queen of Heaven in West Allis on June 26, 1989 and then as Associate Pastor at St. Catherine of Alexandria (N. 76th Place), Milwaukee on June 23, 1992.  He was appointed the Temporary Administrator at St. Catherine of Alexandria on November 5, 1993 and on November 30, 1995 he was appointed the Pastor. He was appointed Pastor at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in New Berlin on June 20, 2006. On June 17, 2008 he was appointed as Pastor at St. Aloysius and St. Rita in West Allis.  He was appointed Pastor at Mary Queen of Heaven and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parishes in West Allis on June 21, 2011 while remaining Pastor at St. Aloysius.  On September 1, 2013 he was appointed Pastor at St. Aloysius and Immaculate Heart of Mary in West Allis.  He was appointed Pastor of Mother of Perpetual Help in West Allis on July 1, 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Mother of Perpetual Help Church in West Allis (Mary Queen of Heaven site - 106th & Lincoln).  Any priest who plans to concelebrate must contact Jodi Bowers in the Office for Clergy at 414-769-3484 or bowersj@archmil.org.  Numbers will be limited.

A visitation will also take place on Monday, April 5, 2021 beginning at noon and continuing until time for the funeral liturgy at 7:00 pm.

Members of the Purgatorial Society will please offer the prescribed Mass for the repose of his soul and include Father Prasser's intention in the General Intercessions at the parish.
