Reverend Erwin Henry Matt

Born on April 1, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Father began his priestly formation at Marquette University from 1947 – 1949 and St. Francis Major Seminary from 1950 – 1956. Father was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend Albert G. Meyer on May 26, 1956, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee.
Father Matt was first assigned Assistant at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Parish in Sheboygan on June 26, 1956. He was appointed to the Faculty of Saint Francis Minor Seminary in St. Francis on June 21, 1957. On June 19, 1979, he was assigned as Associate Pastor at St. John Kanty Parish in Milwaukee. Father was assigned as Shared Pastor at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Fredonia and Mission of Mother of Sorrows Parish in Little Kohler on September 2, 1980. On October 7, 1980, he was appointed Chaplain at Notre Dame Health Care Centers in Elm Grove. He retired from active ministry on June 20, 1995.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Father Matt will be celebrated at Clement Manor Chapel, 3939 S. 92nd Street, Greenfield on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Priest friends and former colleagues are invited to concelebrate; please bring an alb and white stole. Visitation will be held at Clement Manor Chapel, on September 26, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 W. Nash Street, Milwaukee following the funeral Mass.
Members of the Purgatorial Society will please offer the prescribed Mass for the repose of his soul and include Father Matt’s intention in the General Intercessions at the parish.
Reverend Steven John Amann

Born on June 18, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Father began his priestly formation at De Sales Preparatory High School from 1966 – 1968, Saint Francis College from 1968 – 1970, and St. Francis Seminary School of Pastoral Ministry from 1970 – 1974. Father was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend William E. Cousins on May 25, 1974, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee.
Father Amann was first assigned Associate Pastor at St. James Parish in Menomonee Falls, on June 18, 1974. He was appointed Campus Minister at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee on June 17, 1980. On June 21, 1983, he was assigned as Associate Pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Fond du Lac. Father was assigned as Director of Home Formation and Spiritual Formation at Call to Ministry on July 1, 1985. On June 16, 1987, he was appointed Pastor at St. Mary Parish in Port Washington. Father was assigned as Pastor at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in New Berlin on October 3, 1995. On June 20, 2006, he was appointed Pastor at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Burlington. He retired from active ministry on June 30, 2018.

Howard Avenue, New Berlin on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Priest friends and former colleagues are invited to concelebrate; please bring an alb and white stole. Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, on September 22, from 9:00 a.m. – Noon. A private interment will take place at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Milwaukee.
