Eucharistic Revival Timeline

How the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is participating in the Eucharistic Revival

The Eucharistic Revival was spurred by a 2017 Pew Research study that reported 69 percent of U.S. Catholics don’t believe in the Church’s teaching on the Eucharist — that it is the Real Presence of Jesus Christ. To address this crisis, the U.S. bishops called for a 3-year Eucharistic Revival from the Feast of Corpus Christi 2022 to Corpus Christi 2025.

The Feast of Corpus Christi
June 19, 2022

The USCCB launched a national response to the Lord’s call with widespread eucharistic processions and adoration on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Along with other diocese throughout the United States, an official announcement of Eucharistic Revival was released by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and some of our parishes celebrated with Eucharistic Processions after their Sunday Masses.

Emmaus 90
January 1 - March 31, 2024
Registration Opens this Fall!

All Catholics are invited to participate in Emmaus 90, a program where each "pilgrim" is given daily prayer prompts (for 90 days), challenging practices to grow in holiness, and weekly formation videos on the beauty of the Catholic faith. This 90-day journey will bring pilgrims closer to Jesus, especially in the Eucharist, sending them to be “Eucharistic missionaries” in their families, workplaces, parishes, and neighborhoods. This is a perfect program for your archdiocesan office staff to participate in. More info coming soon, including Emmaus 90 parish leader zoom training opportunities!

National Eucharistic Pilgrimage
May – June 2024

The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is expected to pass through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee from north to south, June 19-26, 2024. Note: opportunities to participate in the procession within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will be announced at a later date.

The procession will begin during the feast of Pentecost, May 17–19, 2024, from four origin points: San Francisco in the west; Bemidji, Minnesota, from the north; New Haven, Connecticut, from the east; and Brownsville, Texas, from the south. Each route of the pilgrimage has a specific patron saint who holds a special significance to the regions the pilgrims will be passing through.

Along the way, the pilgrims will make stops in major U.S. cities, churches, Catholic colleges, and holy sites. Parishes along the routes will host Mass, adoration, devotions, praise and worship, teaching on the Eucharist, and more. The four pilgrimage processions will ultimately converge in Indianapolis on July 16, 2024, to participate in the National Eucharistic Congress.
