Filipino Catholics are a vibrant presence in the Catholic Church in Southeastern Wisconsin. As members of parishes throughout the Archdiocese, they enrich the local church with a long tradition of lay involvement and a strong Catholic identity. Filipino Catholic Ministry (FCM) is represented on the Asian and Pacific Islander Ministry Advisory Council that is part of the Black Catholic and Ethnic Ministries Office of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
The leadership group of FCM organizes various ministries, religious feastdays and activities as opportunities to journey together in faith with others guided by our Filipino devotions and religious traditions. These ministries and activities include, but are not limited to:
The Our Lady of Fatima Family Rosary Crusade
Each week throughout the year, a family in the community welcomes Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima in their home and prays the family rosary each day of the week. At the end of the week, the Blessed Virgin is welcomed into a new home. Click here for the 2020 Our Lady of Fatima Family Rosary Crusade Schedule. For more information regarding the Fatima Rosary Crusade, please contact Jimmy Soriano at (414) 758-0423.
A traditional nine-day novena of masses before Christmas is held in nine (9) different parishes from Dec.15-23.
San Lorenzo Ruiz
Honored as the first Filipino saint, his feast day is September 28th. FCM organizes a celebration in September each year.
San Pedro Calunsod
Canonized in October 2012, San Pedro Calungsod is the patron of Filipino youth, altar boys and the Philippines. His feast day falls on April 2. FCM honors San Pedro with a healing Mass each year during Lent.
The Santacruzan or May Crowning honoring the Virgin Mary is celebrated during the month of May, usually on Mother's Day.
A detailed brochure of all FCM activities will soon be available. To learn more about Filipino Catholic Ministry, please contact Fr. Agustin (Jojo) Orosa Jr., MI, Spiritual Director for FCM at firstname.lastname@example.org.
