Partners in Mission: A Parish Response

“My name is Agustin del Rosario Brito, although everyone in La Sagrada Familia knows me as Euclides. I am 32 years of age and have been employed by the parish for twelve years. Before that I was in charge of youth ministry for two years, during the time that Fathers Ken Clapp and Jerome Thompson were here. Initially, I was in charge of maintenance. Later, with the help of the parish, I managed to attend law school and became a lawyer. Currently, I am in charge of all legal assistance programs that the parish provides to many people in need. In our country it is important to have papers to verify your place of birth and your identity.
The presence of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee through La Sagrada Familia parish has meant a lot to our small town. The pastoral care and the development projects you have provided through nutritional programs and health centers have forever changed my life and the lives of others in our parish.”
The parish is made up of 30,000 people living in 22 villages. Through its two nutrition centers, 150 children are served daily, receiving two meals and basic education.

Pulpit Announcement: December 3-4

Before the existence of La Sagrada Familia Parish, people in the province of Azua, Dominican Republic organized in groups to pray that someone would come to help them on their faith journey. There was no parish Church. There was only a young diocese with people living in the poorest section of the country. In choosing to begin this relationship, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee committed itself to becoming a partner in building a community of faith and mutual friendship. Please note the message from a parishioner from La Sagrada Familia in the Sunday Bulletin.
