Steubenville Conferences

Encounter Experiences for high school students

The Steubenville Youth Conferences, an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville, are a series of 19 Catholic conferences across North America that help teens encounter the love of Christ every summer. Our mission is to build the Church by evangelizing, equipping, and empowering God’s children to become radical and joyful disciples.

Every summer the Archdiocese of Milwaukee plans a trip to one of these conferences.

Group Leader FAQs

Open AllClose All
How many adult leaders can/should I bring with my parish group? Can my priest come?

Parish groups need 1 adult for every 7 teens. Parish groups also need gender specific leaders (if you have boys and girls attending, you need to have male and female adult leaders).

All adult leaders should be ready and capable of accompanying your youth at Steubenville. Please do not use this conference as an evangelizing experience for adults.

Due to space, we often have to limit parishes to the chaperones needed based on their group size.  If space allows, extra chaperones may attend, but attional costs will apply.

Priests are more than welcome to accompany your group! Because they may have different duties during the conference, you should not count them as adult leaders. If your priest would like to attend, reach out to Andrew ASAP!

Do I need to book hotel rooms for my group?

No, the archdiocese books a block of hotel rooms for our archdiocese group. We will also provide busing from/to the hotel daily.

How many students or adults per room?

We will place 4 students in a double queen bed room or two adults.

Parishes will assign students to their rooms, but some rooms may be shared between parishes.

If you need special accommodations, please contact your parish leader. [Parish leaders, contact Andrew]. We will do our best, but may not be able to accommodate requests based on the number of rooms in our block.

  What Meals are included?

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee registration includes 6 meals. The hotel provides a breakfast each morning while the university covers all other meals. The provided meals at:

Friday Dinner: At Benedictine University

Saturday Breakfast: At hotel

Saturday Lunch & Dinner: At Benedictine University

Sunday Breakfast: At hotel

Sunday Lunch: Grab & Go from Benedictine University

  What is the refund policy?

For individual teens:, parishes determine refund policies and dates, since families pay parishes directly.

The parish refund policy for spots is as follows:

The initial deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Groups that drop spots before May 1, 2026 will receive a full refund, less deposit, for any payments made and will not be required to pay the remaining balance for dropped tickets.

Spots dropped after May 1st
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for any spots dropped after May 1st.

  Are Scholarships or fundraisers available?

The archdiocese does not provide any scholarships or fundraising opportunities.  Since we charge parishes directly, parishes can choose to fundraise and charge their participants less.

Partnership for Youth does provide scholarships. See their website for more information.

Why does some information on the Partnership for Youth Website differ from the information from the Archdiocese?

The Archdiocese plans a trip to the Steubenville conference as a service to our parishes.  As a result, we become an intermediary between the conference and our parishes. As a result, we need to adjust a few things, such as initial deposit amount to cover other up-front costs (bus and hotel rooms) and have adjusted key dates about a week earlier to give our team time to receive your requests and submit them in time to the conference.
