The Learning Support Specialist at St. Mary plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic growth and success in mathematics and reading. This new position focuses on providing targeted interventions to students who require additional support to meet grade-level expectations. The interventionist is responsible for the push-in and pull-out support and for planning instruction and/or adaption of the instructional programs.
Responsibilities:
Provide targeted intervention in reading and mathematics to struggling learners.
Implement structured interventions based on iReady diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring.
Collaborate with school staff on universal reading instruction strategies.
Maintain open communication with teachers, the learning support team, and families.
Keep accurate records of interventions, assessments, and student progress.
Prepare reports on intervention outcomes for school administration, teachers, and parents.
Attend IEP meetings and act as a liaison between the public school district and St. Mary.
Support data-informed instructional practices to enhance student learning.
Track and monitor progress toward IEP goals for students receiving interventions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education.
Valid teaching certification/license.
Experience in providing math and reading interventions to students.
Knowledge of instructional strategies and resources for diverse learners.
Strong data analysis skills to inform instructional decision-making.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
