Parish Administrative Assistant

We're looking for a vibrant and energetic individual to join our team as a Parish Administrative Assistant. In this role, you'll work closely with our Director of Administrative Services, parish staff, and parishioners to keep our community connected and thriving.

You'll be the go-to person for posting important updates to our parish computer system, coordinating volunteer schedules for the reception desk, and providing essential support to our office team. Plus, you'll have the unique opportunity to work directly with our new Pastor, Fr. John LoCoco, assisting with his administrative needs and helping to shape the future of our parish.

Job Responsibility Breakdown:

1. Liturgy Support (50%):

  • Impact: Enhance our worship experience by creating, printing, and storing worship aids. Lead efforts in recruiting and training Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, Media Ministers, Hospitality Ministers, Sacristans, and Office Assistants, empowering them to serve our community effectively. Collaberate with the Liturgy staff to manage liturgical supplies, ensuring everything needed for worship is available and in place. Your efforts make each service meaningful and well-organized.

2. Assist Pastor (20%):

  • Impact: Support our Pastor in various administrative projects, allowing him to focus more on spiritual leadership. Your organizational skills and proactive assistance directly contribute to the smooth running of our parish.

3. Reception (20%):

  • Impact: Be the welcoming face of our parish by recruiting, scheduling, and coordinating volunteers for the reception desk. Greet parishioners warmly and ensure their needs are met, making a positive impact on their experience with us.

4. Sacrament Responsibilities (5%):

  • Impact: Play a crucial role in preserving the integrity of our parish records by accurately recording all sacramental information. Your attention to detail ensures our community's important milestones are documented with care.

5. Administrative Support (5%):

  • Impact: Ensure our parish office runs efficiently by handling copying, filing, and computer posting tasks. Your work behind the scenes keeps everything on track.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned, showcasing your flexibility and dedication to supporting our parish in various ways. Your willingness to step in where needed helps our community thrive.

Your Manager:  Director of Administrative Services

Hours: This is an 80% Full Time position and therefore is open for benefits. The current schedule is Monday thru Thursday, but this is flexible based on candidate

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • A love for collaberating with others and a strong team spirit
  • Ability to positively and efficiently change priorities, as needed
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and accurately
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

  • High school diploma or equivalent
