Pius XI Catholic High School is hiring a teacher to work in our Special Studies Department for the 2024-25 school year. We are looking for an educator who is able to work effectively within a diverse school community and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that students with special needs are able to access and engage in the general education curriculum. The teacher must be able to implement a variety of instructional strategies and provide needed accommodations to students in grades 9-12.
Qualifications
This full-time position requires the Special Education teacher to:

Possess strong knowledge, skills, and experience in working with students with specific learning disabilities, ADHD, and health diagnoses such as anxiety

Possess strong knowledge of secondary education curriculum

Write and maintain Accommodation Plans

Personalize instructional practices

Develop and nurture positive relationships with students

Maintain a structured classroom environment

Understand how to use data to inform instructional practices

Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues

Be organized and detail-oriented

Work collaboratively while also possessing the ability to make decisions independently
Years of Experience: Experience preferred
Degree: Bachelors
Licenses: Cross Categorical Special Education (1801) or Learning Disabilities (1811)
