Learning Support Team Member

  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor and attitude in alignment with the Gospel values and the school’s mission
  • Demonstrates dependability, integrity, respect for student differences and other standards of ethical conduct
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Effectively follows all directives of the school principal, teachers, and other supervisors
  • Follows the guidelines and expectations set forth by the faculty handbook demonstrating and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of educational staff
  • Participates in data informed instructional practices to advance the learning of students
  • Keeps record of modifications and strategies employed for the purposes of measuring goals according to Education Action Plans
  • Maintains open lines of communciation with classroom teachers, fellow members of the learning support staff, and parents in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Maintains confidentiality, collegiality, and collaboration with the teaching staff and fellow support team members
  • Supervises students in proper use of school materials and equipment
  • Assists in the supervision of students and assumes responsibility for supervision of students when assigned by the principal to include escorting children to and from classes and recess
  • Collaborates with administration and classroom teachers to address specific learning needs of students identified as needing support and follows the chain of command for administrative procedures

Qualifications

  • Hold at least an associate’s degree; or
  • Be able to show, through a formal state or local academic assessment, that they know about and can assist in reading, writing, and math instruction
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with staff, students, parents, parish leaders and volunteers while using a collaborative work style
  • Completed Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee
