Bishop Hying reminds us that Evangelization is about Jesus. Evangelization, catechesis, the Sacraments and ongoing conversion are all aspects of deepening our relationship with Jesus and growing in our faith. We evangelize, like the early Church, because we want to share our faith. “Faith shared is faith strengthened.” Fewer Catholics participate in Sunday Mass, many engaged couples are cohabiting or sleeping together and know little about their faith, the Church faces tough obstacles including lack of effective catechesis, secularity, relativism, materialism, promiscuity and clergy sexual abuse crisis. All of these challenges point out that now is an evangelizing moment; now is the time for Catholicism to proclaim the Lord Jesus with renewed conviction and fervor.
