Downtown Kenosha Catholic Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Communicates with current parishioners and seeks new participants for parish opportunities via engagement, marketing (social media, website, etc.), and organization.
  2. Solicits, organizes/schedules, and directs volunteers for parish operations/events and collaborates with other employees to support workflow with volunteer support.
  3. Plans and implements receptions after sacramental Masses (Easter Vigil, First Communion, Confirmation), parish events, dinners, outings, pilgrimages, and serves as the director for these events as they occur.
  4. Manages office documents, procedure descriptions, and key logs to support human resources as needed.
  5. Serves as a secondary receiver of parishioner calls and responds to parishioner needs such as Mass intentions, Mass schedule questions, new parishioner welcome, maintaining parishioner information, etc.
  6. Collaborates with the Director of Music and Liturgy and the Director of Religious Education to solicit and train liturgical ministers such as lectors, ushers, and altar servers when necessary.
  7. Assists Office Manager with cemeteries when Office Manager is absent and corresponds with volunteers to help correct cemetery records.
  8. Assists Director of Religious Education in planning retreats, events, or trips for youth.
  9. Possesses a food handler license and bartending license and manages raffle licenses and other permits.
  10. Collaborates with other staff, to prepare for busy seasons in the Church with volunteers such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter and for parishioner events/prayer opportunities.
  11. Assists with ordering supplies and/or contacting vendors, contractors, or other service providers at the direction of the pastor.
  12. Occasionally travels to other campuses to: unlock or lock doors or obtain materials needed for liturgical or operational procedures.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned by the pastor.

Requirements:

  1. Must be respectful of and understanding toward Catholic teaching, liturgy, and practice.
  2. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills in a variety of settings and formats (i.e. face-to-face, phone, email, small/large group, etc.).
  3. High school diploma or GED required. Some college education preferred. Experience or education in fields such as communication, photo/video, or other digital marketing is preferred.
  4. Must show a willingness to commit to parish life, interaction, and events. Weekend and evening hours are frequently required.
  5. Proficient in Adobe, Canva, and G Suite (Google programs).
  6. Proficient with social media and possesses basic computer literacy.
  7. Must have reliable transportation and meet Archdiocese of Milwaukee car insurance minimums.
  8. Some knowledge of the Spanish language is required. Spanish fluency is preferred.
