Primary Job Function
Collaborates with the Pastor, under his supervision, and with other members of the parish staff, integrating responsibility for adult and youth formation programs.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing the High School Confirmation preparation process; recruit, train, and support volunteers and catechists.
- Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing the OCIA process for both adults and children; recruit, train, and support volunteers and co-leaders.
- Plan and participate in youth ministry activities, such as retreats, service projects, mission opportunities, and special events.
- Collaborate with the Child/Early Adolescent Formation Minister to provide programming.
- Lead the Christian Formation Committee to ensure quality parish programming.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for catechists, children, and families.
- Direct the work of religious education professionals and support staff, ensuring proper training.
- Maintain department budgets for Adult Ministry and Youth Ministry.
- Contribute to the overall mission and pastoral life of the parish.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
Minimum Education / Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic in good standing and able to fully participate in the sacramental life of the Church.
- Able to articulate the philosophy and theology underlying the parish religious education program.
- Able to guide the catechetical staff in the systematic assessment of the catechetical needs of the parish.
- Highly motivated and passionate about inspiring youth and adults.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
