Lumen Christi Parish is seeking a detail-oriented General Assistant to support our Catholic Formation Department. Full Time, 11 month flexible position

 

Position Summary

Provide administrative and general support to the Catholic Formation Department at Lumen Christi Parish. Serving as the welcoming first point of contact for the Catholic Formation office, this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail in record management, and the ability to handle a variety of general office responsibilities with professionalism and confidentiality.

The General Assistant is an active team member who collaborates closely with staff and supports intergenerational ministries and events as needed. This position is adaptable, with responsibilities that evolve throughout the year to meet the changing needs of the department, all while upholding and reflecting the values of the Catholic Church.
 

Major Position Responsibilities and Regular Activities
  • Support the Catholic Formation mission by managing registration processes and welcoming families into parish life
  • Monitor tuition, fees, outreach donations, and documentation
  • Assist in preparing formation classes and ministry programs
  • Maintain sacramental records and accompany families in completing requirements with clarity and care
  • Draft and coordinate communications that keep families informed, engaged, and connected to parish life
  • Collaborate with the Catholic Formation team and support the evolving needs of the ministry as directed
     
Education, Training and/or Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google with the ability to quickly learn specialized digital tools and systems to support administrative and ministry needs
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Safe Environment requirements met and maintained
  • Practicing Roman Catholic in Good Standing

 

Work Environment and Availability
  • Office Environment
  • Monday - Friday day time work schedule, with some flexibility within the position
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours availability if needed

 

ADA Physical Requirements
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
  • The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms
  • Close vision required for paperwork and computer
  • Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone
  • This role functions in an office environment and uses standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
